Compass is seeking a Power Systems PM to join our Corporate Development team onsite in our Dallas, Texas or Toronto, Canada office.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Power Systems PM to coordinate and support power-related projects and initiatives, ensuring seamless coordination between internal teams, external vendors, and utility companies. This role requires strong project management skills, technical knowledge of power systems, and the ability to drive deliverables from concept to completion. The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator, problem-solver, and relationship-builder who can navigate complex projects while maintaining alignment with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Technical Support & Coordination

  • Assist in the development, review and submission of power study requests, and load ramp analyses.
  • Support power-related projects, ensuring timely execution and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with engineering and project teams to resolve technical power-related questions.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for vendor and technology evaluations.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and best practices in power systems.

Technical & Analytical Responsibilities

  • Review and assess power study requests, load ramp analyses.
  • Act as a liaison between internal teams, utility companies, and vendors.
  • Coordinate discussions with power companies, regulatory organizations, and industry groups such as DCC, EEI and EPRI.
  • Provide support for energy contract negotiations and energy supply evaluations, including financial analyses and contract reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with technical requirements and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain strong relationships with power companies, engineering firms, and vendors.
  • Attend and contribute to internal technical discussions and power-related meetings.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Energy Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in power systems, engineering, energy coordination or customer/sales.
  • Strong understanding of power systems, natural gas, and utility processes.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in technical analysis and documentation.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
  • Experience working with regulatory bodies and industry organizations is a plus.
