Compass is currently recruiting for the position of Community Relations Lead based in Dallas, TX. Join us on this exciting expedition and become an integral part of our mission to redefine the datacenter landscape.

To help us fulfill our commitment to being a good neighbor, we are seeking to add a marketing team member to plan, monitor and measure community relations efforts. This marketing team member will ensure that we identify and engage in the right opportunities, with the right people so that the communities where we operate feel our presence and value. They will represent the Compass brand on the grassroots level. They will also contribute to our earned media strategy and execution.

Specifically, in this role, you’ll manage:

  • Compass representation at local events. From Chamber of Commerce meetings to community giving and fundraising events, you will identify the event, line up attendees and ensure marketing leverages the engagement through various communications channels.
  • Beyond our support of the local communities where we operate, the Community Relations Lead will help as Compass Datacenters grows its global corporate social responsibility platform, investing in the future of the data center industry workforce, diversity in construction and bridging the digital divide.
  • Working with the VP of PR and Compass’ PR firm, this position will support Compass’ earned media program by identifying Compass news opportunities, story placement, content development and media outreach strategies.
  • The Community Relations Lead may also be asked to support larger industry trade events managed by marketing, as well as employee events in partnership with HR.
  • The Community Relations Lead will be part of a fun, dynamic marketing team and work in a booming industry, where we have a great opportunity to make a positive impact and help Compass stand out as a different kind of data center company.

Must-haves:

  • Energy and enthusiasm for building relationships and representing our brand.
  • The ability to identify newsworthy content and develop strategies that result in the Compass brand being elevated through earned channels.
  • Aptitude for juggling the details that come with event/sponsorship planning.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced company which sometimes requires you to rely on your good instincts and supports failure on the path to success.
  • MS Office and strong writing and communications skills are a must.
  • Design and social platform savvy would be a bonus.
  • Occasional travel (monthly, most likely) will be required.
