This position will be responsible for pre-sales and post-sales activities. The position will support our global sales team with design and technical sales skills. The role will also act as the Subject Matter Expert related to the data center structure, mechanical and electrical infrastructure, security, connectivity and controls. The Solutions Engineer will also serve as customer advocate with the construction and the operations teams. Additional responsibilities include developing customized business lenses, modeling specific customer needs, preliminary design, building customer presentations and evaluating customer needs.

Qualified candidates should have five years of experience in colocation, hosting, facilities, mission-critical construction, electrical and /or mechanical industrial design, or related fields. The position also requires direct experience in sales, sales engineering and/or design and construction of mission-critical facilities. Candidates should be self-starters that can thrive in a fast-paced, collegial environment. Extensive travel will be required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supporting sales teams in technical sales and solutions in all markets.
  • Directing prospect engagement, leading building and site tours, sales calls and proposal generation, technical trade offs and negotiations.
  • Acting as primary liaison between site acquisitions, operations, construction, and sales team.
  • Designing, presenting, and evaluating customer-specific customization
  • Responding to customer RFI/Ps. Providing input and support for construction projects.
  • Generating leads through professional contacts and networking.
  • Developing systems to enable Poka Yoke based sales technical and training materials with high emphasis on self-discovery for the internal customer

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participating in forecasting, pipeline and market analysis.
  • Liaising with the professional community; attend technical forums and present papers at industry events.
  • Monitoring and evaluating trends in prospect, customer and target tenant base.
  • Consulting on new equipment and design to maintain continuous improvement on product development
