The Legal Administrator will support the Lease & Contracts Manager with project management, review, setup, and administration of corporate transactions. The individual in this role must be highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities with written and oral communication skills commensurate with this level of regular communication.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Compass executive team, finance team, and development teams to project manage debt & equity acquisitions, joint venture agreements, and other transactions
- coordinate across multiple internal teams and external stakeholders, e.g., law firms and brokerage firms
- Create abstracts for contracts, development-related agreements (land purchase agreements), leases, and other documents
- Responsible for ongoing management of foreign entity requirements, corporate records, LLC agreements, organization documents, and board minutes
- Negotiate agreements within defined parameters, e.g., supplier master service agreements, purchase and sale agreements, and other agreements
- Assist with real estate tax matters working in conjunction with attorneys, land development, and internal tax accountant
- Assist with new entity setup, including but not limited to corresponding with outside counsel and foreign accounting firms and reading corporate documents for accuracy before execution
- Assist in internal project hand-offs to ensure appropriate knowledge is transferred and succinctly breakdown milestones of the projects, outstanding issues, and or risk associated
- Administration of corporate development and finance transactions, including:
- assist with internal and external due diligence requests
- assist with regulatory reporting requirements
- track critical requirements in development-related agreements
- ensure electronic closing binders are received, properly filed, and distributed
- Prepare/update recurring transaction status reports
- Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge & Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in corporate development, lease administration, project management or project coordinator role, or legal assistant
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (i.e., accounting, business management, real estate), or have a Paralegal (plus) or related experience

IT/PC Skills:
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, specifically PowerPoint, for use in communicating program updates to the executive level
Written/Oral Communication:
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Other:
- Working knowledge of the commercial real estate industry with emphasis on development transactions, international transaction experience a plus
- Title experience is a plus
- Proficient in reading legal documents and familiar with lease transactions
- Knowledge of all Microsoft applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with all levels of an organization
- Exceptional administrative skills with experience supporting multiple individuals
- Exceptional customer service skills are important
- Must be able to successfully work well with others in a team environment
- Ability to work interchangeably with multiple departments with limited oversight
- High attention to detail required
- Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities as needed
- Good organizational skills and problem/resolution abilities
